Oregon Zoo

Last Friday we decided to take the Max Train into Portland to visit the Oregon Zoo. We purchased our tickets and got a 45 minute tour of the city on our trip from roughly the airport to Beaverton on the Red Line. Once we arrived in the underground station at the zoo we took an express elevator up to the zoo entrance. The tunnel we were in was called the Robertson Tunnel and reminded all of us of the movie Chronicles of Narnia. The zoo itself was beautiful being situated on 400+ acre Washington Park but we were disappointed in the actual animal exhibits. Their enclosures were lovely but it was hard to see any of the animals. The ones we did see were pretty cool, my favorite being the Bald Eagle. I think we all agreed that the train ride was the best part and we got to go right by JELD-WEN Field home of the Portland Timbers MLS team!!! Let's just say we can't wait to hop on the Red Line again with a bunch of crazy soccer fans decked out in Timbers Green(or sponsor- Alaska Airlines Red).
